Renewable Natural Gas in Alberta
Let's delve into the pivotal role of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and the positive impact it will have on Alberta's dynamic energy landscape.
The presentation will include points on what RNG is, why investors are interested in it, Catapult’s Aldersyde project, the process of anaerobic digestion, as well as opportunities and challenges faced while moving into the RNG space.
Gaetan Gobeil , Vice President Operations
Gaetan Gobeil is a results-driven executive with over 20 years experience in the energy and environmental sectors. He currently serves as Vice President of Operations at Catapult Environmental, where he leads a cross-functional team of professionals and ensures safe and profitable development and subsequent operations for the company's Water, Compost, and RNG facilities.
In his career he has held various leadership positions where he achieved a successful track record of building and growing businesses through financing transactions with private investors, M&A and greenfield development. Prior to Catapult he was CEO at White Water Management, where he focused on water projects and project management. Gaetan's career also includes a successful tenure as Director of Sales at Tervita Corporation and various sales and operations roles at Baker Hughes.
He holds an MBA from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and Queen's University and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Gaetan actively volunteers with organizations like Junior Achievement and coaches’ youth hockey and baseball in Calgary. His passion for improving the environment and commitment to community make him a standout executive.
Miranda Bawol, Operations Engineer
With over a decade dedicated to the energy industry, Miranda Bawol has been steadfast in her pursuit of efficiency and the art of making data-driven decisions.
Specializing in optimizing water disposal wells, Miranda has played pivotal roles in various operational capacities, refining her expertise in waste water management. Recently, Miranda has taken on a new challenge as she transitions her project management skill set into overseeing the development of Catapult's Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) projects. In this role, she applies her operational acumen to drive forward innovative initiatives that harness renewable resources and align with Catapult's commitment to sustainability.
Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary, Miranda continues to seek out opportunities for growth and innovation within the energy sector. Beyond her professional pursuits, Miranda dedicates time to charitable events and enjoys connecting with her friends and family, experiencing all the best that life has to offer by always being ‘in’ for a new experience or adventure.
Catapult Environmental
Catapult Environmental is an innovative company providing organic waste and wastewater processing solutions for corporations and municipalities across western Canada. Catapult owns and operates waste water management facilities in Alberta and BC, and has recently added organics processing facilities into our portfolio, operating in Manitoba and constructing a new facility near Aldersyde. These recent acquisitions have allowed the company to pivot into the renewable natural gas (RNG) industry, striving to transform organic waste into clean, renewable energy sources, contributing to a more sustainable future for all.
